Please note that the outer surface of the spare tire should be less than 12.5 inches away from the hole center of the receiver to allow enough clearance for folding up the bike rack when not in use. Additionally, if your car has a side-opening tailgate, the bottom edge of the spare tire or the door should be more than 9.5 inches from the top edge of the receiver to accommodate the folded-up cargo carrier.
